When a pet gets sick and the insurance claim comes back denied, the reason is often the same: a pre-existing condition — and by the time you're arguing about it, the evidence that could have helped (a dated note of when the limp started, which vet saw what) is gone.
PetClaimLog exists to fix that after-the-fact problem: we explain how pre-existing condition rules actually work (based on primary sources like the NAIC Pet Insurance Model Act and state regulations), how to appeal a denied claim, and we provide a simple, private Evidence Log tool so pet owners can build the documentation before they need it.
The site is operated by an independent publisher. It is free to read and the tool is free to use. We plan to keep it running through affiliate commissions: if you click through to an insurance provider and request a quote, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Full details are on our Affiliate Disclosure page. Compensation never determines the substance of our guides, which are grounded in cited primary sources.

We read everything and reply to substantive questions about corrections, licensing, or data requests. We cannot answer questions about your specific claim — for those, contact your state insurance department's consumer division (that is also often the most effective escalation path, as our appeal playbook explains).
